Good Morning Friends of Denver Parks,
We have set aside times to bring your petitions by John and Judy’s house as we need to have them turned in by July 1 at noon. We will need to turn them in to the Clerk and Recorder on that date. Of course this could depend on the Judges decision on June 28, 9AM. So be prepared for fast decisions after we hear our fate.
We plan to convene a Friends of Denver Parks Board Meeting directly after the Judges ruling. We will be deciding the next direction to take concerning Hentzell Park Natural Area. Already multiple discussions taking place concerning the system that created this dilemma in the first place and whether we want to chop at the roots of this problem.
Anyway, we are anticipating many exciting opportunities to make the changes necessary to save our Parks from development now and for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.
Hopefully, you will see this as a worthwhile endeavor and join us to save our Parks. We can only do this with a shoulder to shoulder effort. No one person can do this alone. As our petition effort has already proven, Denver residents do not want to see their parks used as a tool for developers and their politician buddies to make money. This will require a personal decision that you will help. The interest and momentum is there.
We think that the Judges decision may/likely involve a continuance of our petition effort, so be prepared for that possibility.
Petition drop off times:
June 27 – Thursday evening after 5pm

We will make one last big push on Sunday evening at Jazz in The Park
from 6-8pm. There are thousands of people at this event and folks are
willing to sign. This is easy and rewarding work getting petitions at this event.
I was able to get 150 signatures in 2 hours. Judy will be there with her Notary Seal and you can deliver your petitions to her. Look for the green t-shirts.
